Doxxing: A Cybercrime That Violates Data Privacy and Protection
DOXXING AS A CYBERCRIME IN NIGERIA: A Legal Analysis in Light of the Cybercrimes (Amendment) Act 2024 By Dada, Olumide Olumuyiwa, LLB, ACIPM, HRPL, LLM Candidate Abstract The digital age has given rise to a particularly dangerous form of harassment known as doxxing — the deliberate, non-consensual online exposure of a person's private information with intent to harm. This article examines how Nigerian law addresses doxxing conduct, with particular focus on the changes introduced by the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) (Amendment) Act 2024, signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on 28 February 2024.
